Multiple CDkeys
has anyone purchased a 2nd CD key & registered it to the same account as another?
I was wonderring if that would allow another 4 characters or if a 2nd account is necessary... |

Well the game template does not indicate support for a linked account. There are not 4 spaces in character selection. And also, you'd be wasting a storage box by doing so.

But you would gain all the rune unlocks etc that you have already done. To answer the poster, no, I do not believe this is an option right now. If it were though, I certainly would drop another 40$ (yep, its on sale for 40$ now) to get another 4 char slots, in a heartbeat. |

I had heard that you can register two keys for the same account, but I think that they would exist as their own seperate keys, in that no shared storage etc. (and why would you want the xunlai agent to share herself among EIGHT different characters? You wouldn't have room for anything.)

But do the things you have unlocked get shared (runes, skills, weapon upgrades, etc) or do you have to reunlock all the things you do on your original key?

AFAIK, you can't register two keys with the same account. Futhermore, I don't even think you can register two accounts under the same email, which would mean that there would be absolutely no relation between the two accounts at all, and therefore you would have to unlock stuff for each account if you want them on both.
Maybe you can log on to two different computers and trade runes and items between your characters to unlock those, though? I dunno if trading a rune unlocks it for a person who gets it, but I would assume it does. Still. No, there is no automatic sharage between two different accounts. |

You can add an additional cd key to the account (and email address) you simply go to the add cd option in the account settings. The thread is trying to figure out the affects of that. So we know you cant share items.
But my question still remains if unlocked skills, runes, and what not are shared between keys. Last edited by IndyCC; Jun 02, 2005 at 03:58 PM // 15:58.. |

There is a difference between 'account' and 'key'. An account can have multiple keys, and keys can give you different features. But you still only have one account unless you register different keys under different email addresses. Then you'ld obviously have multiple accounts but they wouldn't be tied together in anyway.
For example, I have two keys: a preorder key from EB Games and a CE key. If I wanted (and could get my hands on) a different pre order key I'd add it and get the benefit from it. The entire system is meant for the eventual release of chapters. |

The option to add keys to an account is not intended for multiple keys of the same type. What I mean by this is, so far, there have been beta keys, preorder keys and retail keys (any that I missed?). Preorder key + retail key = Normal account with special item. Retail key + retail key = Normal account plus nuthin'. Presumeably when the new Chapters come out, you'll use this function to enable the new chapters on your current account, rather than having to start new characters all over again.
Futhermore, looking at the account options, I don't see anything that lets you add email addresses, just change your current one. One account = one email. There is currently no way to link them in order to share unlocked skills. *Edit: Curses! Valin beat me to it! Last edited by digital sunshine; Jun 02, 2005 at 04:00 PM // 16:00.. |
